How did it all start?

We think the ignition was a statement:

“It is not feasible to produce a truly natural cosmetic cream”,

as stated by a respected cosmetics formulator on the net.

We decided to challenge that statement and prove it wrong.

A closer look at commercially available “natural” cosmetic creams seems to support the above-mentioned belief.

They often contain synthetic petroleum chemicals and/or plant-based, but chemically modified

auxiliary ingredients necessary to emulsify, stabilize, and preserve creams from spoiling.

Those synthetic, or natural but modified ingredients, are considered safe, thus the term GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe).

The GRAS substances are “considered” safe, but many of them were never long-term tested.

Yet, some of the GRAS substances are suspected today to be hormone disruptors, or inhibitors of the

new cell formation, to mention just a few concerns.

Our Botanic Soothing Cream is a living proof that it is possible to formulate a botanical-based, bio-active

cosmetic cream, which is free of synthetic or chemically modified substances.

We did use 1% of ingredients not natural or modified, however, we did not have to.

A deliberately used synthetic form of vitamin C, MAP (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate)

not produced by living organism, has been chosen for a very important reason, long-term stability and

bio-availability at the same time, while a straight vitamin C would perish in the bottle over time.
